Sean O'Neill
Clinical Director
Sean O’Neill, MS, LMFT, serves as the Clinical Director at New Spirit Recovery, bringing over 19 years of experience in behavioral healthcare leadership and direct clinical work. In this role, he oversees trauma-informed clinical program design, acute stabilization and risk management, integrated co-occurring SUD/MH treatment, and continuity of care. Sean is deeply involved in clinical supervision, staff development, and outcomes-driven program oversight, ensuring both clients and clinicians are supported within a structured, accountable, and sustainable treatment environment.

Professional Philosophy
Effective care is built on structure that creates safety, leadership that stays steady under pressure, and a team culture that treats both clients and clinicians with dignity and accountability. Treatment works best when the environment is predictable, supportive, and skills-based—where people feel valued, understood, and consistently challenged to grow in ways that translate into long-term stability.
Sean’s philosophy is to pair authentic human connection with disciplined clinical practice. I show up with lived humility and professional clarity—meeting clients where they are without losing the boundaries, ethics, and clinical judgment that keep treatment grounded. The goal is always the same: to help clients build insight, emotional regulation, and sustainable change, while supporting clinicians to do their best work within a healthy, aligned system.
